About Elaine & Gary

Elaine:  Growing up it should have been obvious what I would want to do...coming from a long line of salesmen and womens!   A graduate of St. Lawrence College in Human Resources Management and Marketing, it certainly was no surprise to my parents who were both award winning realtors when I joined the successful "Smallwood Real Estate Team" here in Ottawa in 1989.  As a team we are/were innovators:  mobile phones in our cars when the accepted mode of "staying in touch" was the phone booth on the corner.  We were nearly the first owners of a cell phone in the the City of Ottawa and we used computers and feature sheets for each of our properties for sale  before the Ottawa Real Estate Board!  Since 1989 Elaine has consistently won awards for her sales achievement the most recent of which is Director's Platinum in 2011 ( 2007, 2009, 2010 as well) which puts the team in the top 5% nationally for Royal Lepage.

Gary: Fully bilingual in french and english, Gary obtained his honours degree in math from Waterloo University....and held many high level positions over his 23 years with HP.  He brings with him extensive training in negotiations, people skills, and demonstrates his high attention to details and customer service!  His dedication to his clients and finding them just the right property is what keeps his clients coming back to him time after time!  

THE TEAM....with many experts in their fields including but not limited to: mortgage lenders, lawyers, inspectors, home stagers  etc. as well as the assistance of our  full time office administrator, Corri DiPietro. We define the area we work in by "wherever our clients need us" so we don't limit our services to any one area of the city.  We enjoy working with first time buyers, military, RCMP and corporate relocations and locals who need to up-size or downsize.  In other words we would love to hear from you!
